Tonight will be the first SMU game for several newcomers. Junior forward Ethan Chargois reminisced about his first game in an SMU uniform back in 2017.

SMU forward Ethan Chargois remembered his first college basketball game as if it happened yesterday. The Mustangs during the 2017-18 season beat a UMBC team that ultimately went on to not only advance to the NCAA Tournament but also become the first-ever No. 16 seed to defeat a No. 1 seed in the first round.

SMU beat UMBC, 78-67, on Nov. 10, 2017. It was a night Chargois described it "magical," as he finished with 15 points and eight rebounds as a starting freshman.

Tuesday night, Chargois, now a junior, wants SMU's newcomers to have a magical night of their own. They'll have every opportunity to do so when the Mustangs host Jacksonville State out of the Ohio Valley Conference.
