Head coach Sonny Dykes and the SMU Mustangs are on their second and final bye week of the 2019 season. The Mustangs are 9-1 and enjoying their best start since starting 10-1 in the 1983 season.

Dykes spoke Monday morning to members of the media via the American Athletic Conference coaches teleconference and discussed a variety of topics. Among those were getting a valuable starter back in time for the Mustangs' Nov. 23 matchup at Navy.
