The No. 16 SMU Mustangs and the Memphis Tigers will play Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at ABC
Memphis escaped with a narrow victory over Tulsa, but the fact remains clear: Memphis scored a victory.
The Tigers improved to 7-1 on the season and 3-1 in the American Athletic Conference West Division standings. They are now a game behind SMU in the conference standings, as the No. 16 Mustangs are 8-0 overall and 4-0 in the AAC West.

As SMU and Memphis prepare for next Saturday's clash at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis, both teams received news Saturday evening from the AAC that the game will be the national primetime game on ABC. The game will have a 6:30 p.m. kickoff.
SMU is coming off a 34-31 win at Houston on Thursday. On Saturday, Memphis held off a second-half rally by Tulsa and scored a 42-41 victory. Tulsa missed a 29-yard field goal in the final seconds of the game.
As of early Saturday evening, whether ESPN's College GameDay will also come to Memphis is still to be determined. Look for that decision to be strongly considered now that both SMU and Memphis finished the week with victories.
