SMU has been off to a good start before the new season, not just with a new conference but with impressive players choosing the Mustangs as their new home.
Miles Uter, a six-foot-four tight end who attends Bayside Academy in Daphne, Alabama, has chosen to commit to SMU over 16 other universities.
"SMU has always left a great impression on me. I like Dallas, and it's a great education," Uter said."The school is dedicated to returning the sports program to an elite status, which was very important. My brother, Graham Uter, is also on a scholarship as an o-lineman there, so it will be great to be reunited with him."
Tight ends coach Casey Woods offered Ulter.
Ulter had 17 offers and talked to head coach Rhett Lashlee before his commitment.
