Senior Day has been very good to Navy for several years. Since 2003, the final home for Navy's senior players has gone in the favor of the Midshipmen.
If you're counting, that 16 consecutive wins for the Midshipmen.
It's one more goal for SMU to shoot for as the teams prepare to collide at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland. And there are plenty of goals to pinpoint for the Mustangs this year.
For example, there's the opportunity to get to 10 wins for the first time in over three decades with a Saturday victory. There's also the goal of remaining alive for not only an American Athletic Conference West Division championship but also a spot in the Cotton Bowl as the top-ranked Group of 5 team.

In order for SMU to be that team to get that win over Navy on Senior Day, it'll need to play near-flawless football -- on both ends of the field -- against a very disciplined Navy team. It's also a Navy team that is looking to bounce back from a bad loss against Notre Dame.
The good news with SMU: The team is well rested after a bye week and ready for a big clash in Annapolis.
