SMU WR Trey Quinn Drafted with the Last Pick at No. 256 by the Redskins

...with the 256 pick in the 2018 NFL draft, the Washington Redskins select Trey Quinn, Mr. Irrelevant. Any SMU fan knows Quinn is far from irrelevant but even at the last pick, he was drafted none the less. The Mustangs have only sent three or more players to the draft once since 1987, in the 2013 class with Josh LeRibeus and Taylor Thompson.

Quinn was the national leader in receptions and the Mustangs' leading receiver in 2017, despite sharing the spotlight with second-round pick Courtland Sutton. Quinn was a four-star prospect out of high school in Louisiana where he famously earned a scholarship to LSU after proving he could run a 4.4 40-yard dash.

Quinn transferred out of LSU to SMU, sat out a season, and then became SMU's leading receiver tallying 1,191 yards and 12 touchdowns. A reliable receiver on every single down, Quinn's in a good position with the Redskins, who've got a good quarterback in Alex Smith and a youthful wide receiver core.
