Nwokobia, is a Dallas native with a 3.13 GPA, and aspires to open a training facility for future athletes.
Nwokobia,was honored with the No. 23 jersey this season, demonstrating leadership and character. Nwokobia was given the honor to wear No. 23 this season, given annually to a player who exemplifies the traits and the qualities of former SMU player Jerry LeVias—the first Black player at SMU and the first Black scholarship athlete in the Southwest Conference.
"Isaiah is a strong student dedicated to being successful not only on the field but also in the classroom," SMU academic advisor Keyanna Smith said. "Isaiah completed his internship working to train athletes."
The Go Bowling Military Bowl announced the fourth annual STEM Scholar-Athlete Program members.
"The Go Bowling Military Bowl STEM Scholar-Athlete Program honors an amazing group of young men who truly showcase what it means to be a student-athlete," Military Bowl Foundation President & Executive Director Steve Beck said. The Program honors one football player at each university who is a member of the ACC and the American Athletic Conference.
These players are studying STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) subjects and aspire to STEM careers.
The two players whose teams compete in the 2024 Go Bowling Military Bowl will be recognized at the game.
