The next time Terrance Gipson takes a snap under center, it’ll be in an SMU uniform.
Gipson, the Mustangs’ quarterback commitment in the Class of 2019, had his senior season cut short by a knee injury suffered last Thursday, he announced via Twitter.
The 3-star dual-threat prospect will rehab at SMU and is expected to be a mid-year enrollee.
Gipson threw for more than 2,000 yards and rushed for another 500 during his junior season at Westfield (Texas) High School en route to notching 11 wins for his team. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound quarterback committed to SMU over offers from Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Memphis and Louisiana-Lafayette, among others.
