SMU hosted the number four ranked Blue Devils. Duke took the game 89 to 62. They improved to 12-2 and 4-0 in conference play while SMU dropped to 11-3 and 2-1 in the conference.

Freshman Cooper Flagg led the way for the Blue Devils with 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 assists on a team high 32 minutes.

For SMU Boopie Miller led the way with 21 points, 5 assists, and 2 rebounds. Samet Yigitoglu, a 7-foot-2 freshman from Istanbul, had 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Duke, playing without ill coach Jon Scheyer, extended their winning streak to eight games with the victory.

Duke’s head coach, Scheyer, didn’t travel with the team and missed a game for the first time in three seasons as Duke’s head coach. Associate head coach Chris Carrawell was the acting coach.
