With the announcement of the cancellation of the TCU game, SMU will now have 12 days to prepare for its American Athletic Conference opener Oct. 1 against Memphis.
And with it being a home opener -- coupling with what happened last season -- consider it the perfect opportunity for the Mustangs to prepare for a super-competitive conference run.
