Personal expectations make SMU's Tyson Jolly one to watch

SMU basketball doesn't have a senior on the team, but junior transfer guard Tyson Jolly could be that go-to player on a young squad.

After the first game of the season last Tuesday, Tyson Jolly showed the mindset of a potential leader. Not because of what he did on the court, but because of how he assessed what he did on the court.

Following SMU's season-opening victory against Jacksonville State, Jolly was asked about his overall play. In his first game wearing an SMU uniform, he finished with 21 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals, and he made 7 of 10 shots for the game.

The grade he gave himself? Somewhat unacceptable. Below average, even, in the eyes of perception.
