James Proche's legacy lives in SMU lore in more ways than one. Mention "Channel 3," and he reaches into recruiting circles these days as much as NFL virtual board rooms -- including in the living room of SMU 2022 wide receiver target Talyn Shettron.

A highly regarded, four-star receiver out of Santa Fe High School in Edmond, Oklahoma, Shettron said he admired the way SMU is building its program under third-year head coach Sonny Dykes.
