DE Jayden Jones commitment: 11th-hour offer pays dividends for SMU

SMU joined the party late for Jayden Jones but still managed to land a high-ceiling defensive end from Parish Episcopal.

It was supposed to be a decision made around 10 a.m. Saturday. But for Parish Episcopal defensive end Jayden Jones, more time was needed.

A public decision didn't come until roughly a half hour before the start of Saturday's SMU-North Texas kickoff, which had a 5 p.m. start. And for SMU, it was well worth the wait.
