Challenge accepted: SMU's remaining football schedule a gauntlet
The No. 19 SMU football has six regular-season games left; four of those six teams have only one loss.
One look at SMU's remaining schedule reconfirms the words head coach Sonny Dykes said at the beginning of the season and has said throughout the year.
No win is guaranteed, and anything can happen in a super-competitive American Athletic Conference.
SMU is 6-0 on the season and ranked No. 19 in both the AP Top 25 Poll and the Coaches Poll. But the Mustangs will play their final six games against several teams still capable of being atop the standings of their respective conference divisions. Temple, Memphis, Navy and Tulane all are one-loss teams, and Houston is a team that plays very well at home.
Add in ECU, and it makes for a gauntlet of sorts for a Mustangs team trying to stay unbeaten.
