The Hilltopics caught up with 2026 Conroe High School defensive back Xavier Harmon, who picked up an offer from SMU on January 24.

"I was very excited after receiving the SMU offer! That is a school I have had my eyes on watching the program grow and see the success they've had. Coach Rickey Hunley explained that they loved my style of play, being able to move with my size and my ball skills, and the fact I can also play safety."

Harmon was named a District 13-6A First Team selection and helped lead the Tigers to a 9-3 record and advance to the Area Round of the Class 6A Division I playoffs in 2024.

"We had a very historical season here at Conroe. We were able to go 9-3 after all the hard work that we had put in."

He has seen his recruitment pick up lately and also has offers from Michigan State, TCU, Arizona, LSU, Kansas, Texas A&M, Duke, Houston, Kansas State, Florida, Mississippi State, and Mississippi. Harmon is also hearing from a few other schools.

"My recruiting process has been climbing lately, and I am very blessed to be in the position I am in with the opportunity coaches are giving me. Some other schools that I have heard from are Baylor, Texas, and Arizona State."

Harmon is only a junior, but he already has an idea of what he will be looking for in the program he ultimately decides to commit to.

"I will be looking for a program that will help me prepare for a successful life after football and that has bought into me as much as I am going to put into them. I'd also love to have the opportunity to play as a freshman. I am not looking for it to be handed over, but I don't wanna be overlooked and not be noticed because I'm a freshman when I know I can compete."

He picked up his latest offer from Pittsburgh on January 25.
