Two-star Greenville wide recevier Derren Wilson commits to SMU

Chad Morris has picked up his second commitment in a week in the form of two-star Greenville wide receiver D'erren Wilson, a 2015 product who was choosing between SMU, North Texas and UCF.
Wilson spoke with the HillTopics about his decision to commit.

"I just felt comfortable, like this was where I was supposed to be (because of) the campus and the coaches," Wilson told the HillTopics. "I told coach Morris and he was like, you just made my week. He was really excited. I feel like I made the right choice."
Wilson also got a chance to talk with Joe Craddock and the other offensive coaches about where he will fit in at SMU.
"They see me as a big physical outside receiver who can make plays down the field," Wilson said, also noting that was the type of role he was looking to fill in college.
While on campus, Wilson was able to talk with the assistant dean of the Cox School of Business, Kevin Knox.
"It was beautiful, my major is going to be business so they have a big business school," Wilson said. "I got to talk to Mr. Knox. He just said what I'm going to be doing and how they can help me and all the connections that SMU has."
Wilson also enjoyed the football facilities.
"They were really nice. I liked the stadium. The locker room was beautiful, I liked the little Mustang on the top and how it was set up," Wilson said.
Wilson has not yet gotten a chance to talk with any other SMU commits but he says he knows James Proche and thinks they will fit in well together on offense. He also said that while being close to home was not a major factor for him, it was still definitely a positive for SMU.
