SMU men's basketball coach Tim Jankovich and juniors Ethan Chargois and Isiaha Mike spoke to reporters with the 2019-20 season tipping off in three weeks.

The dark cloud has been lifted. You can almost see SMU men's basketball coach Tim Jankovich taking the deep breaths of relief as he spoke to reporters during a Tuesday media session.

There's a noticeable aura around Moody Coliseum, a positive force if you will. Gone are the sanctions that plagued the men's basketball team the past couple of years. No longer around is the stench of punishment -- and missing scholarships -- for NCAA violations of the recent past.

What's even more noticeable: The pep in the steps of both the SMU players and coaches -- and by players, we mean all of them. The team is at full roster, and it is three weeks away from tipping off the 2019-20 season at home against Jacksonville State.
