Men's Conference Schedule Announced

The American Athletic released its 18-game conference slate for the 2021-22 men's basketball season, and SMU will be playing eight conference opponents two times and two one-off conference matchups.

The Fightin' Tim Jankovichs will have home-and-away matchups with Cincinnati, Houston, Memphis, USF, Temple, Tulane, Tulsa and Wichita State.

SMU will then have one home game against UCF and one away game against ECU.

No dates have been set yet, but SMU is slated to play in the Jacksonville Classic in mid-November.

It's the sixth season for SMU under Jankovich, who is 101-55 as the head coach on The Hilltop and a 69-17 record in that time at Moody.

SMU is coming off an NIT bid last year after finishing 11-6 and returns Kendric Davis, Emmanuel Bandoumel and adds transfers Zach Nutall, brothers Michael and Marcus Weathers, Tristan Clark and Franklin Agunanne.

The Ponies are expected to compete for an AAC title this year.
