Coach Jones Talks A&M Game Week

Every Monday the American Athletic Conference holds a teleconference with all of the head coaches from around the league. here is the transcript on what SMU head coach June Jones had to say on Monday. Plus, listen to the teleconferences from the rest of the AAC coaches below.

On the off week and looking ahead to Texas A&M
June Jones: "We had a good off week. It's always good if you have a win. It doesn't drag on. We got somethings done that we thought we needed to get done. now we are focused on Texas A&M. They are a very good football team. we will have to lay our best to beat them. its a great opportunity to be on national TV and play a top team in the country."

On his thoughts about the AAC
JJ: "Well i think that the future is very bright for our conference. i was very excited with the leadership in place from the leadership in may and the leadership in early august. I think that the impact the conference can have is that you have to win the big games. Like UCF beating Penn State, that is a big statement. That's what we have to do. I thinking our TV contract with ESPN will really help us, not only financially but from a exposure standpoint too."

On the impact of big TV markets in the conference
JJ: "Obviously the TV viewing audiences are very large, especially in Dallas and Houston and those markets. Those markets are certainly going to show results. We are excited about that opportunity and are excited about the future of the conference. I feel really good about the conference as far as the leadership goes."
