By the time they make you an official offer, all that will be left is
Cinn, Rutgers, South Fla and Villinova.

Oh BOY!

The MWC/Cusa conglomerate is much more attractive!

Easy come, easy go!

The whole lose AQ argument is not real. Sorry, there are no agreed upon measures that allow for a conferences AQ status to go away. The people out there who say there is, are simply using the formula that exists in order to obtain one. its not the same thing buddy.

And when will your conference ever get AQ status?

Posted on 11/1 6:23 PM | IP: Logged

Sorry Tulsa. Next time don't have your school in well....Tulsa, OK.

Posted on 11/1 7:48 PM | IP: Logged

Tulsa, best of luck against Southwest Missouri Tech and Northeast Arkansas State. With the dive CUSA recruiting is about to take, these will be the teams you'll be recruiting against!

Posted on 11/1 8:24 PM | IP: Logged

I hate to disappoint the the h8rs, but there's still a very good chance that our new TV contract will be worth more than $1 billion. SMU will fit in well, and I think you'll enjoy the Big East camaraderie. And with the schools that will be announcing on Friday that they're joining, we'll also have no trouble keeping our AQ status.

I'm glad SMU's in the conference, and I know I speak for many Louisville fans when I say Welcome.

Thank you! Please know, SMU/Dallas is very excited about the opportunity and we look forward to helping get the BE where it should be. Go Big East!

Posted on 11/1 8:42 PM | IP: Logged

Second. We can't wait to toss the hatorade back in the face of doubters and help make the Big East an even better conference. Glad to be aboard!

I'm afraid you're the only thing we're saying good-bye to. Maybe they can add the Sunbelt to your pile of garbage? Couldn't hurt.

Posted on 11/1 9:07 PM | IP: Logged

See you in a couple of years when you come crawling back!

Posted on 11/1 10:34 PM | IP: Logged

Tulsa vs. UNT will be a good CUSA matchup.

Posted on 11/1 11:41 PM | IP: Logged

Really excited about the smu vs temple or smu vs ucon and of course the biggie smu vs rutgers!

Posted on 11/2 3:51 PM | IP: Logged

I am sure Tulsa would jump at the chance to go to The Big East.

Posted on 11/2 5:03 PM | IP: Logged

Great move for SMU. Good luck.

1. Welcome SMU fans!
2. please explain how u see us losing our AQ status ? your just an ignorant fan who is whining because your team is stuck in C-USA have fun being the laughing stock of C-USA....

Posted on 11/3 2:23 PM | IP: Logged

To those of you celebrating the AQ status enjoy it for 2 years. The move in the BCS is to do away with AQ positions in the next contract, and invite the top 10 or 12 (if they bring in Jerry's World Bowl) in the rankings per the BCS formula. Mike Slive of the SEC has said as much and this morning the Big 12 Commissioner said the same thing. The Executive Director of the BCS has also indicated that there is a movement in that direction. The reasons are many. SEC wants a third position for it's teams and the others (Except the BE and ACC) want a chance to get a third position. The Bowls themselves are not happy with the BE rep over the past few years and they are paying the money. And the other conferences are not happy with the gerrymandering of the BE to try and save the AQ status.

So after 2013, it won't matter what conference you are in, you will have to end the season in the top 10 to 12 to get a bid.

Wrong Pauldel, BEast will keep its A-Q! Sorry for you, so sad. Be happy for SMU and others, you're turn will come one day!

This conference is actually a lot better than the one we have right now too so there you go we keep AQ SMU and other new members will be in as soon as they find another western member because BYU wanted too much of their TV contract instead of combining with the Big East TV contract

All this Big East hate comes from one place : ESPN. And you know why? B/c they want to keep out NBC/Comcast from getting a bigger peice of the college football pie.

Espin doesn't attack the ACC. Yet one could make the same argument against their AQ status. And has anyone noticed the love they are now giving CUSA once UH, UCF and SMU were on their way to BE? Really sad.

12-15 m reasons? Mor like 7 mil a year. Hell, the BE still haven't given us our Final Four Money.

Posted on 12/7 10:06 PM | IP: Logged

I can't believe a Tulsa fan is talking smack. They're the third best football team in the city, right behind Jenks and Union.

No, she's smiling because WVU has never had the embarrassment of a death penalty.

Pony, make sure you type slow. They can't read very fast.

Posted on 12/9 11:27 PM | IP: Logged

They better start hitching up the wagons now to get their football team 1,200 miles to their nearest conference foe in the new Big 9.

Posted on 12/10 2:47 PM | IP: Logged

she is kinda hot. See you TU, RIce, and Tulane, thank god.

Posted on 12/10 10:10 PM | IP: Logged

lol.

This thread quasi-delivered.

Posted on 12/11 8:11 PM | IP: Logged

Maybe Tulsa is a little upset this isn't them in the heart of Times Square, NYC. We're talking about one of the most visit spots in the US and this is up during the holidays when it's really crazy. The BE is now making a bigger push to expand the BE brand nationally. What better place to start in Times Square near the advertising capital of the world.

Exactly. Because Boise's victories over Georgia, Oregon, Virginia Tech, Arizona State, etc. are just the kind of wins that LA-Monroe and Western Kentucky regularly chalk up. Houston beat #5 Oklahoma State on the road, a Texas Tech team that ended up #21, Mississippi State, and UCLA--very reminiscent of the kind of thing you see from Florida Atlantic and Middle Tennessee State. UCF defeated Georgia in a bowl game. That reminded me of Troy's 42-14 loss to Navy. USF's win over Notre Dame made me think of UNT's drubbing at the hands of Alabama. Yep, Big East = Sun Belt.

I get why the teams stuck in the "Alliance" aren't happy about it. I would be upset if UH were left in C-USA while other schools went to a better conference. That's already happened to us once in the SWC. But I have never seen such whining as I'm seeing from C-USA teams that didn't get invited. I don't recall have any such reaction when Louisville, Cincinnati, and USF went to the Big East, and the only good program at that time among them was UL. Absolutely pathetic.

Big least -- Cusa
Boisie -- So Miss
Houston -- Tulsa
Louisville -- ECU
UCF -- Marshall
Cinn -- UTEP
SoFla -- Rice
Uconn -- Tulane
SMU -- UAB
Rutgers -- Mem

Not much difference. So why does the bigleast deserve an AQ to the BcS?

is this PanikStriken in disguise? Butthurt --- sorry man, it's over.

Posted on 1/21 4:02 PM | IP: Logged

Looks like Memphis to the Big East.

Posted on 2/7 1:56 PM | IP: Logged

Yes, Memphis is on its way to the BEAST with you. We're getting the same h8ters you are. They are hurt because they know with our schools leaving CUSA is now in trouble. We're glad to join you in the BEAST. Memphis has said, lets keep it classy. I know SMU will do so as well. Lets shrug off those who don't respect and help make the Big East the best. Lets have some fun and congrats!

Posted on 2/8 4:04 PM | IP: Logged

Welcome to the Big East CollierTiger. I'm glad SMU is leaving CUSA. A lot of butthurt coming from Marshall, Tulsa, USM, and the "virtual" ECU. Frankly, I'm sick of their incessant whining.
